Happy Birthday, Mary Kelsey, 20 years old. ....................
In 2011, July has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays. This apparently happens once every 823 years!
This is a google map of Fort Sill. The near by town is Lawton. It is a huge Fort with miles of bare land around.
This is what Wikipedia has to say about the Fort. It was "Staked out by General Phil Sheridan".
One point of trivia. If Taylor wants special treatment he can tell them his grandfather going way back to James Ferry the 1st, married an Ellen Sheridan (Born Ireland 1805). Quote from Mary Alice's Poppies book: "When Ellen was a little girl, four of her Sheridan uncles arrived in America. Probably one of these uncles was the father of General Phil Sheridan, a prominent figure in the Civil War." Good luck Taylor. The connection has some loose ends. Better wait before you give them the word. General Sheridan's father was John Sheridan. His father was Jack(John) Sheridan whose wife was a Gaynor.

A great old picture of Taylor and Brendan. Taylor is now back at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The Army is keeping him very busy. He is getting hardly any sleep. To night between 2 and 3 am he is on guard watch. He has found the PX and he has had his head shaved. Steve reports he is in an upbeat mood. He will have a mailing address soon. Go ARMY.
Taylor on the left, two years ago. Today he is on his way to start his military career.
