We were out to dinner. on election evening. We all had gizmos, but couldn't get the election returns. Mimi called home to Gary who was watching the TV. It was very early in the evening and she was happy with the returns (then). Note her, "I voted sticker".

for Wednesday November 7th

This Ford wagon went everywhere. I think I see Mimi, Patti, and Jeanni. Also a Ryan girl.

Pappy Jim*(2.0) came over to spend the night with his grandchildren. Note the crutches with Patti. Also notice how tan Papa Jim is in these pictures. He was outside a lot doing construction.

for November 6th, Tuesday, .....Election Day

Paddy on the way to a nice gain, and game, except on his last play he did some shoulder damage. His team won.

"On Friday Paddy's last game was in Richmond.  Frank went to the game. Joe and I were at Washington and Lee for Kelsey’s parent weekend.  After the game Frank and Paddy flew to Louisiana for the LSU vs Alabama game.  I spoke to Frank and he told me all about Paddy’s game except one detail.  Paddy got injured during the fourth quarter and had to come out.  He was knocked down and landed on his left shoulder.  He wasn't able to move it and it swelled up.  They decided they still wanted to fly to the LSU game.  They also decided not to tell me until they return home.  When Frank took pictures of Paddy at the game he made sure Paddy's shoulder wasn't visible.**    Last night Frank called to tell me their arrival time and that Paddy had a slight injury from Friday night.  Paddy got off the plane and his left shoulder is about 5 times bigger than his right.

We went to the Dr. and an x-ray showed he broke his shoulder through the growth plate.  It will take about 8 weeks to heal.  If he grows more his arm will be different lengths, but Kelsey suggested he just keep one arm bent and no one will notice.

Paddy doesn't seem to mind since that was last the game of football season. Tonight  is the first basketball practice,   He won't be there!

To Jim and Blog readers,

 We are all ok. Patti is with the girls (and Mary Ella) camping out in the new house (they have not fully moved out) where power came on Friday. Julia had her confirmation yesterday which was very lovely - happy time for all.

We just got power and heat back last night at our Cold Spring Harbor house. The biggest challenge now that power and heat are back is getting gas. We both have gas in our cars but it was a three hour wait.

All in all, we came thru ok. Lot's of tree damage in our community though not the flooding on the North Shore of Long Island was nothing like they had on the South Shore where there were many homes destroyed.

Paddy has his last game on Friday night.  They won!!! 24-21.  They got to ring the church bells.

After the game Paddy and Frank flew to Louisiana.

Frank gave Paddy tickets to the LSU vs Alabama for his birthday when you were here.  They fly back late tonight. Paddy will be tired for school on Monday.

Kelsey is on Boston with the Romney campaign.

He interviewed me this past Sept. in person during our visit.

He recorded an hour interview on video.

We're happy to report he got an A for his project. Maybe not an A for choice of subject matter

for Saturday November 3rd

Joe and Jeanni work bingo games for Catholic High.

It appears Joe is also doing homework.

"Last night Joe and I were worked at the bingo center- its a fundraiser for Roanoke Catholic sports.  It's a crazy place.  It's full of smoking, serious bingo players.  Joes job was to pass out the game winnings. Joe was doling out 100 and 500 dollars to the winners.  I was in charge of the gaming cards.  Some of the players get mad if you hand out an unlucky card.  People also scatter  good luck objects around them. Interesting looking stuffed animals, bracelets, pictures, to help them win.

Usually we would be done around 10:00pm but they let us go early because of the storm.  Joe and I were so happy to leave.

It's been windy in Roanoke, and some flurries.  They cancelled school.

Mike says his house will close next week. This is an older google picture of the lot. The house is all finished. Mike says they are living in an apartment now and he likes it there.
