for Monday May 17th........ Amgen Bike Race

Yesterday, Sunday, I attended finals for the 1st leg of the Amgen Bike Tour.

Here they come. Police estimated the crowds at 100,000.
Right behind the bike are the chase cars.

A good way to see the event is by TV.

The Chase Motorcycles were interesting to watch. With so much going on it is a wonder they don't accidents.

Mother's Day series. 1989.

1970. Scene from the past. Mike's Baptism. Sue was Godmother and I guess a family friend Jim Francisco the Godfather. He is show with his wife. (Name?) He once built a salt testing station that sat on piling and had walkway built to it. He built it piece by piece in our shop. Everything numbered and predrilled. We installed it in one long rushed day. The Pie Drivers Union wanted the work. They also want a 5 man crew plus a foremen. It looked like a week's work to them. We were union contractors and had agreements with only the Labors, and Operating Engineers.

Xmas 1994. Mary Kelsey 2.151 and Joseph 2.152. Jeanni reports a very grown up Joe ran a 5 minute mile and won his race. She reports the best she can do is a 10 minute mile. The best I can do is a 20 minute mile. Congratulations Joe. Mary Kelsey is quite an athlete herself.
