Here is Mimi at a birthday dinner last night, She liked her presents that came in the small box. She is 52 years old. She is not excited about joining AARP soon. Neither am I having a daughter in her 50's.

Jimmy, Lou, Ween and Mikey, (translated: Dad, Patti Lou, Jeanni, and Mike) We saw the storm hitting Long Island at 7am on Sunday on TV, , , so being Steve,, , I emailed Patty Lou at that time that we hope the Searbys are good swimmers. Don't you know it, she sends me a photo of her neighbor's house and the neighborhood is underwater. Sure felt like crap, , , Marcus passed his driving test today, , , I should have taken some pictures, because he was really stressed, but he did awesome! Attached are some pictures from Facebook of Taylor. They were in the field all week (like camping) doing drills and exercises. At the end of the week they had to march with full gear back to base which was over 10 miles. They got back at 3:30 am and had their "Right of Passage" ceremony. They were done with Basic Training and get to wear the Beret, , , and they toast some weird drink with their Captain and Drill Sergeant and finally get some sleep. It was their Hell Week. The girls from June 1962. I was worried about the weather, on the East Coast. Jeanni, could not be reached, but I got her local Virginia report. The hurricane will have little effect there. Patti's quote is below. Mimi lives close to me. Her weather is fine.

We are sitting around waiting for Hurricane Irene to hit..really don't know what will happen..never been in a Hurricane before? The South Shore of Long Island will be hit much harder.. We live on the sound in the North Shore. The last hurricane was 1985 and everyone last power for 5 days so who knows..? We tried calling Joanie on her birthday but had no luck. Julia hasn't sent her thank-you notes out!
