Some very sad news, Betsy and Bob's oldest son, Michael Flynn, passed away recently. He is on the right above in this 1971 picture. He leaves his wife Yoli, and kids Olivia and Antonia. Picture above is a family trip to Disneyland. From the left above is Steven Flynn, Steven, Joe in background, Patrick in foreground, and Michael*. Also in the picture is Patti, Mary Ella, and Betsy.

Mary Kelsey. Something I didn't know, Kelsey took ballerina lessons.

Frank and family went dog sledding this last winter. This is Paddy and Jeanni flying along being pulled by their team.

Paddy's birthday cake. It was ice cream and marvelous. Paddy's football number is 18.

for Tuesday September 25th

Joe got a package from his "Aunt" Julie. Very mysterious.

Joe was sent the Clapper Man. This is an award that for ten years has been passed around the family. When you turn the handle the wooden man claps. Paddy gets to choose who he will give the award.

It came along with a beautiful letter in the book by Julie. The book goes with the award.

We celebrated by a stop at a yogurt store. Paddy, Joanie, Jim, Frank, Jeanni, and Joe. 

Joe's tee shirt color went with the shop's color scheme. 

Congratulations Joe.

Some of the help gathers around to sing happy birthday to Paddy. He is directly behind the woman serving.

Joe works as a bus boy, clerk of the works at this restaurant in Salem, Va.

Here is Joe working in the kitchen. He has his back to us. I snuck in to take this picture.

for Saturday 22nd of September

Paddy's team is in white. He is the quarterback. His head just shows in the line up just behind the center. They played a team over an hours drive away in the small town of Buena Visa. Looking at the stands across the field, the whole home town attends the Friday night game.

Here Paddy confers with his parents after the game. Paddy played very well passing for 2 touch downs and he ran the ball for some real gains. On his arm is a play call sheet with all their plays. He scored some ink in the local newspaper.

Amber and Mike's kids were used to eating from  street vendors. Now it is McDonalds here we come. Amber we wish you a Happy Birthday today.

Jeanni sent in these pictures of Paddy playing football. Paddy chose number 18,  the number of his favorite player, quarter back Payton Manning of the Colts.

Our favorite quarter back gets good protection from his team. He is a sophomore on the Varsity.

Paddy completed 7 out of 9 passes for 141 and two touchdowns.

for Friday 14th of September

Hi dad
Everyday Paddy has a few more bruises from football.  Yesterday in practice he got knocked down pretty hard.  We iced his shoulder and gave him Advil. He also has a bad respiratory infection and sinus infection. We spent two hours at the Drs. yesterday.
He is the starting quarterback for tomorrow nights game.  He's really excited. I'm going to look the other way each time he gets knocked down.
