Irene will have minimal effects on Southwest Virginia

We are sitting around waiting for Hurricane Irene to hit..really don't know what will happen..never been in a Hurricane before? The South Shore of Long Island will be hit much harder.. We live on the sound in the North Shore. The last hurricane was 1985 and everyone last power for 5 days so who knows..? We tried calling Joanie on her birthday but had no luck. Julia hasn't sent her thank-you notes out!
