There is a story behind this older person. From Jeanni:

"The lady in the picture is a patient of Franks--Judy. She attends St Andrews, so we take her to church sometimes. She is so sweet and has the saddest circumstances of anyone I have ever met, but always seems happy and positive. She was put in a dumpster after she was born and someone found her barely alive. She was blind with cerebral palsey. She grew up in many foster care homes. Frank did surgery on her and she can see color and shapes now. It was amazing for her when she saw her first colors."

For some unknown reason, the Cotters refuse to use a ladder to get to the top of the Xmas tree. The kids are all to heavy to lift up this year so Jeanni volunteered. I thought of cutting a hole in the ceiling and reaching down from the floor above.

A little joke between father and son.

"Frank gave Paddy a potato with label on it that said 500 pounds. A few weeks ago Paddy and Frank made a bet about what the biggest potato in the world weighs. Paddy thought it could've 500 pounds they made a bet on it. The biggest potato is 28 pounds. Of course we had to tease Paddy about it." Jeanni.

Kelsey and a traveling friend are ready to go to Europe school break vacation. Kelsey does very well, I hear, with French and Italian and should fit right in with the 1000's students I remember seeing in Europe.

1964. Xmas at Grandma B's apartment. The Baby is Steven (2.14). I learned later in life how important these parties were to our KDB. She planned and shopped and worried and got each of us a very special present and treats. In the 70's it got to be too much for her and she no longer gave these parties. Her last years she lived with us at 641. I remember going in to visit her in her room and she always had time to visit and talk. She lived for 94 years. Some asked her what her biggest regret in life was. She replied "My third marriage". We kids were all in total shock. I don't know why Russ (2.5a), Jim (2.4a) or Mary Ella (2.1a) were not in the picture.

This was a Xmas card, although not very Xmas like. It was taken 1975 in old town. Mike was upset with picture. He wanted to hold the gun. Looks like Mary Ella and Mimi are holding me down. All in all it is a great picture with some sad memories.
